The case involves Amanullah Mahmudi Sagor, founder and teacher of a Qawmi madrasa in Madan Upazila, Netrokona, who is accused of repeatedly raping an 11-year-old residential student, resulting in her pregnancy. The case drew nationwide attention because of the victim's age and the accused's position as a religious teacher entrusted with the care of children. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the first assault occurred on 2 October 2025 after regular madrasa classes had ended. The accused allegedly instructed the child to clean the mosque before calling her into his private room, where he raped her. He allegedly threatened to beat her, expel her from the madrasa, and cause further harm if she disclosed the assault. Due to these threats and the authority exercised by the accused, the victim remained silent. The FIR further alleges that similar sexual assaults occurred several more times over the following months. In April 2026, the victim's mother noticed significant physical changes in her daughter and sought medical treatment. Medical examination revealed that the 11-year-old girl was approximately seven months pregnant. On 23 April 2026, a rape case was filed at Madan Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Following the filing of the case, the accused went into hiding but was arrested by RAB-14 on 6 May 2026 in Gouripur, Mymensingh. He was produced before the court, denied bail, and remanded to judicial custody while investigators pursued forensic evidence. After the victim gave birth to a baby girl, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) collected DNA samples from the accused, the victim, and the newborn for forensic examination. On 24 August 2026, the CID submitted its DNA report before the court. The report established a 99.99% DNA match between Amanullah Mahmudi Sagor and the newborn, scientifically confirming him as the biological father of the child. The DNA findings became a crucial piece of forensic evidence supporting the prosecution's allegations. Following the submission of the report, investigators continued preparing the charge sheet for prosecution before the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
